(Jefferson County) Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office are looking into the death of a detainee at the Jefferson County Jail on Sunday.

The inmate is identified as 41-year-old Melissa Miles from Roberstville and was being held for a probation violation out of Franklin County.

According to a report from the sheriff’s office, Miles was housed by herself in a medical area and had returned earlier in the day from a local hospital for medical-related issues.
