Barnhart man wanted for murder turns himself in to authorities

(Festus) A Barnhart man who was wanted for allegedly shooting, killing a Festus man on Wednesday has turned himself in to authorities.

22-year-old Maleak Brown has been charged with 1st Degree Murder, 2 counts of Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Brown and the victim, 22-year-old Marcus James, were reportedly involved in an argument before Brown allegedly grabbed a gun and shot and killed James in his apartment off Westvale Drive in Festus.

Brown is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a no bond warrant.
