Bunker Boys Basketball Hoping for Breakout Season under Missouri Basketball Hall of Famer Gorman

(Bunker) The Bunker Eagles boys basketball team has been trending up in recent years.

They won 15 games three out of the past four seasons and have even higher aspirations for the 2020-21 season.

They have a new head man leading the program in Rod Gorman, a Licking native who is a member of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and has been coaching high school basketball in Missouri for over three decades.

He has had stops at Festus, Cape Central, Bourbon, Houston, and most notably spent 20 years with Rogersville and led them to over 380 wins.

Gorman says he is excited about this new opportunity with the Eagles.

Bunker returns four starters – Blake Mathis, Cade Sutton, Jory Skaggs, and Chase Wisdom.

The roster is comprised of four seniors, three juniors, four sophomores, and a freshman.

Gorman says he is still learning about the makeup of his team, particularly with their big man Skaggs on the mend, but regardless he expects this to a group that plays aggressively.

With a Bunker team on the cusp of a breakthrough season in recent years, Gorman says the expectations are high.

The Eagles have started the season at (2-0) after playing in the AV Thanksgiving Tournament with victories over Arcadia Valley and Lesterville.
