(BONNE TERRE, Mo.) – The Fredericktown Blackcats girls soccer team had a dominating performance in its first game of the season, defeating the North County Raiders 4-0 on the road Monday in a game heard on KREI. Fredericktown freshman Alivia Buxton made an immediate impact in her first varsity game.

Buxton quickly added a second goal during the first minute of the second half, but she didn’t stop there.

Buxton earned Applebee’s Player of the Game honors in the victory. Blackcats coach DJ McFadden said Alivia is a great addition to an already strong attack.

Fredericktown starts the season at 1-0, while North County falls to 1-1. Both teams will be back in action Tuesday; the Blackcats will host Saxony Lutheran and the Raiders will take on Sikeston.
