Calls for service hold steady for Festus Fire Department

(Festus) Calls for service for the Festus Fire Department remain steady as we head into the summer months.

Fire Chief Travis Wood says they have responded to a variety of calls as of late.

Chief Wood adds the fire department has a roster of 40 firefighters and they are looking to increase that to 60 with the help of volunteers.

The Festus Fire Department will host an open house on Saturday, June 25th from 11 until 3.

During this time the public is encouraged to stop by the fire station located at 212 North Mill Street and see all the equipment and daily operations of the department.

Food and drinks will also be provided.
