Car Clotters Target Imperial Area Neighborhoods Over the Weekend

(Imperial) The Imperial area got hit hard over the weekend by a group of car clotters that ended up stealing a various amount of miscellaneous items from vehicles that were left unlocked.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell says they received multiple reports Saturday night into Sunday of suspects going through vehicles in neighborhoods in and around Imperial.

Bissell mentions people leaving their vehicles unlocked with valuables inside is an ongoing problem in the county and thieves are taking advantage of that.

In comparison, 30 vehicles were stolen in Jefferson County in November and with more than 15 days left this month and more than 20 vehicles already stolen, the county is on pace to exceed last months total.
