CDC Changes Color on it’s Daily COVID-19 Color Guidance Indicator

(Jefferson County) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has changed how it tracks COVID-19 cases through its color guidance indicators.

The Jefferson County Health Department has also followed suit in observing the change.

Jefferson County Health Department spokeswoman Brianne Zwiener has an update on the new color guidance indicator and COVID cases in the county.

We asked Zwiener what is the major difference.

So far more than 31 percent of eligible residents have been fully vaccinated in Jefferson County.

As of Wednesday, the Jefferson County Health Department reported 28 new cases of Covid-19 in the county.

The total number of positive cases stands at 25,052 since March of last year. The active cases sits at 449, and there have been 255 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
