Central Christmas Tournament Second Round Preview

(Park Hills) The 66th Annual Bob Sechrest Jr. Christmas Tournament in at TJ Foulon Field House in Park Hills continues today on J98 starting at 12:45 with the Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show. It’s the semifinals for the girl’s bracket as the top-seeded South Iron Lady Panthers kicks off the day with a matchup against the Potosi Lady Trojans. South Iron Coach Lawrence Graves says his team is starting to make strides to the postseason.

Potosi Coach Allie Golden says the game against the Panthers is a good measuring stick for her team

The second semifinal game is between the Central Lady Rebels and the Steelville Lady Cardinals. Central coach Josh Mapes says he loves to see all of his young players contribute.

Steelville Coach Zach Kennedy says he’s excited for his girls to play today.

The girl’s semifinals will tip with South Iron and Potosi and finish off with Central and Steelville starting at 12:45 on J98.

The boy’s quarterfinals start tonight at 4:00 on J98. South Iron and Steelville will go head-to-head in the first of four boys games. South Iron Coach Dusty Dinkins says his team is not exactly where they want to be.

Our second quarterfinal is a matchup between long-time rivals Farmington and North County. Knights coach Garrett Callahan says his team is starting to find their identity offensively.

Raiders Coach Jimmy Palmer says T.J Foulon Field House will be loud tonight.

Central and Hillsboro will play back-to-back days as the Rebels and Hawks will face off in a quarterfinal matchup. Central Head Coach Brad Gross says Sophomore Jobe Bryant is doing it all for the Rebs.

Hawks Head Coach Dan Johnson says it will be a good test against Central tomorrow.

To cap off all the games tomorrow it will be the Festus Tigers taking on the Ste. Genevieve Dragons. Festus Coach Jason Therrell wants to see his team stay focused through the struggles.
