Central Senior Pitcher Nate Hamski Chosen By Coaches For Spring Dream Team

(Park Hills) There weren’t many pitchers more lights out than Nate Hamski of the Central Rebels. The senior posted a win-loss record of 9-0 and an ERA of 0.53, both school records. Area coaches saw Hamski’s skill on the bump and selected him to be on our 2022 Baseball Dream Team. Hamski says that he had a lot of confidence in the defense behind him.

And in front of him was freshman catcher Jaxon Jones. Even though there was a large class gap between the two, Hamski had a lot of trust in him too.

Hamski only had 33 total strikeouts this season, but always brought quality pitches to the plate. There was one pitch he felt was the best in his aresenal.

Hamski’s number was called in the MAAA Conference Championship Game against Valle Catholic; who had two of their own Dream Teamers. He brought home the win and only allowed four hits in six innings. He says getting the start was a surreal moment.

Central went on a 19-game win streak this year and fell in the State Quarterfinals to Kennett. Hamski plans on attending Mineral Area College and throw for the Cardinals baseball team.
