Central’s Scherffius Brothers Sign with MAC Baseball

(Park Hills, Mo.) Mineral Area College baseball fans may be seeing double on the diamond next season as the twin brothers from Central High School, Braydon and Cade Scherffius, have both signed to continue their playing career with the Cardinals’ baseball team.

Braydon, an infielder, and Cade, a pitcher and outfielder, will both have an opportunity to make an immediate impact at MAC after decorated careers with the Rebels.

Braydon was one of the Central’s top offensive threats, and this past season, he hit .397 with six doubles, two tripes, 17 RBI, and was named 1st Team All-Conference and All-District.

He says it was an awesome experience playing for coach Calvird and the Rebels.

Cade was the ace of the Rebels’ pitching staff, and this past season, he earned three wins over 42.2 innings pitched with 43 strikeouts and a 2.95 ERA. He was also a two-time All-Conference selection as a pitcher.

He says playing at Central did a lot for him and his family.

Ronnie Calvird is the head coach of the Central baseball team and he says he’s excited for these two to have the opportunity to play together at the college level.

Braydon and Cade will join a MAC baseball team that went 32-17 in 2019 and was 5-9 in 2020 before the season was canceled.
