Chief Broombaugh on winter storm safety

(Jefferson County) Thursday’s winter storm will not only bring rain and snow, but very cold temperatures and sub-zero wind chills.

Many people may be staying home and trying to stay as warm as possible.

Festus Fire Chief Jeff Broombaugh says check in with your neighbors and family members, and stresses space heater safety.

The best thing to do is to stay home during the storm but if you have to get out Chief Broombaugh has this advice.

Between 2-4 inches of snow is expected in Jefferson County alongside 40 mph wind gusts combined with colder temperatures will create wind chill values as low as -30 on Thursday night.
