Action from the semifinals of the Class 3, District 3 tournament continues on J-98 Wednesday with one boys game and two girls games.

The boys will go first, as the first-seeded St. Pius Lancers will take on the fifth-seeded Arcadia Valley Tigers.

St. Pius has had to adjust to a February 6th season-ending injury to their leading scorer in junior Riley Naeger. Head coach Eric Lawrence says his team is handling the loss well.

On the other side for Arcadia Valley, they are coming off an upset over the fourth-seeded West County Bulldogs in the quarterfinals.
Head coach Ricky Turnbough knows this game will be tough but also believes his team has a good shot at advancing to the finals.

The second game of the night will be of the girls basketball variety. The fourth-seeded Herculaneum Blackcats will try for an upset over the top seed in the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders.
Herculaneum is coming off an exciting finish in the quarterfinals, as they took a 47-44 victory over the Jefferson Bluejays.

Blackcats head coach Riley Blair thought his team was clutch down the stretch.

Blair thinks his team’s ability to not get turned over by Saxony’s press will be key.

The final game of the night will be between the second-seeded West County Bulldogs and the third-seeded Arcadia Valley Tigers on the girls side.
Arcadia Valley lost both matchups to West County earlier in the season, and Tigers head coach Stan Whited says his squad will have to play four quarters of basketball this time around.

Bulldogs head coach Joe Arnold knows beating a team three times in one season is no easy task.

The action begins today Wednesday with a Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show at 4:15 on J-98 and a tipoff scheduled for 4:30.
