COMTREA’s Mardi Gras Fundraiser, benefiting A Safe Place, Starts on Friday

(Jefferson County) COMTREA’s A Safe Place domestic violence shelter annual Mardi Gras fundraiser is going virtual.

The fundraiser, which supports operations of A Safe Place, will launch a virtual auction this Friday at 9am and will conclude on Saturday, June 19 at 9 pm.

Kim Elbl is the Vice President of Fundraising and Development at COMTREA. She says they have more than 100 items that will be featured on the auction.

On Saturday, June 19th at 6pm, tune-in for a special hour-long video event on COMTREA’s website.

This year’s COMTREA Mardi Gras fundraiser is to help raise funds to remodel the shelter’s kitchen.

All residents at A Safe Place share the kitchen, along with the living room, dining room, and restrooms.

Up to six families are provided a private bedroom at the emergency shelter.
