Congressman Jason Smith Gets Telehealth Help for Rural Missiourians

(Salem, Mo) Rural Missouri struggles when it comes to broadband internet access.

This makes it difficult during times of isolation for the older population living in these areas to get medical health assistance, Congressman Jason Smith explains.

Smith talked to many of the health care providers in the 8th congressional district and came to the decision that Missourians needed help during this time.

The congressman was able to get help for his constituents.

Along with phone conversations being added, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will support more than 80 additional services, when furnished by telehealth, including emergency department visits, initial nursing visits and home visits.
