Construction Begins On Trail At Hawn State Park

A new trail is set to be constructed at Hawn State Park. The trail will be called The Spanish Land Grant Trail and will open up an additional 3.8 miles of hiking in the park. Efforts to approve the trail were led by the Friends of Hawn Association. Friends of Hawn president Kim Gordon says this project has been a very long time in the making.
Gordon expressed optimism for what the new trail can provide to parkgoers.
The next step is to officially begin the construction process, which Gordon says could take up to three years. Anyone interested in helping can go to the Friends of Hawn website for more information.
