Crawford County Man Arrested for Stealing Tiny Home

(Cherryville) A Crawford County man, who allegedly stole a house, was arrested Saturday after deputies with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department received a search warrant to search a property in Cherryville.

A news release from the sheriff’s department says the “tiny home” was found on that property on White River Loop Road.

When a deputy arrived, the news release says 54-year-old Steven L. Volner was seen coming out of the stolen tiny home which had been stolen from Steelville.

Volner was then detained, he was searched and a deputy apparently found illegal drugs and paraphernalia on Volner and suspected drugs and paraphernalia were also found in the stolen home.

Volner was arrested and taken to the jail in Steelville.

A stolen vehicle was also found on the Cherryville property.

Volner was charged Sunday with the felonies of receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.

His bond has been set at 50-thousand dollars.

Volner was supposed to have had his first hearing in court Monday morning.
