Crawford County Man Sentenced on Multiple Charges

A Cherryville man has already been sentenced to prison after he was arrested back in June for stealing a pickup truck in Crawford County. 22-year-old Evan Cavender stole the truck on June 18th at a residence on Smith Street and then he was arrested three days later when Cuba police spotted the stolen truck on Phillips Street. Cavender confessed to stealing the truck at the time of the arrest and he did the same last month when he pleaded guilty to his two initial felonies of first degree property damage and tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree. Cavender was sentenced to four years in prison for each charge but they will run concurrently.
