(CRYSTAL CITY) Girls basketball returns to AM 1400 KJFF Friday night as the St. Pius Lancers visit the Crystal City Hornets for a Jefferson County Small Schools Conference showdown. The Lady Lancers are 8-7 overall and 0-2 in the conference after a pair of close losses to Grandview and Jefferson.

Head coach Aaron Portell discusses the challenges that Crystal City presents.

St. Pius is shooting 22-percent from the three-point line this season. Payton Baker, Angeleena Johnson, and A.J. Agers are all averaging 11-plus points a game for the Lady Lancers.

Crystal City is also 0-2 in the Small Schools conference and 5-11 overall after losses to Grandview and St. Vincent. Lady Hornets head coach Ken Jones says that the team’s success begins with Kailey Kreig but that it can’t end with her.

St. Pius and Crystal City will square off at 7 p.m. Friday on AM 1400 KJFF and online at mymoinfo.com. The Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show begins at 6:45.
