Davisville Man Gets Over a Decade of Prison for Gun Thefts in Washington County

(Potosi) A Crawford County man who was arrested last August for stealing firearms from a Washington County is going to prison for more than a decade.

30-year-old Thomas John Coleman of Davisville was given a 12-year sentence after he plead guilty last week to first degree burglary.

As part of his plea deal, six other felonies were dropped in the case.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department said Coleman broke into a home near Caledonia three different times between late June and early July of 2021, stealing firearms each time.

Coleman stole four guns, two shotguns, a 22-mag rifle and a 30-30 lever-action rifle, valued at 1,475 dollars.

In an unrelated charge, Coleman also plead guilty to possession of a controlled substance.

He received 7 years in prison on that one but that sentence will run concurrent with his 12 year burglary sentence.
