De Soto Rural Fire to Conduct an Apparatus Procession of Honor for Fallen Firefighter Lt. Ronald W. Wehlage, Jr.

(De Soto) Funeral services for De Soto Rural Fire Protection District Lieutenant/Fire Marshal Ronald W. Wehlage Junior will be held on Wednesday morning.

Lieutenant Wehlage Jr. was a 18 year veteran of the department who suffered a medical emergency after responding to a structure fire on Saturday, June 27th.

Tom Fitzgerald is the Chief of the De Soto Fire Protection District. He says the passing of Lieutenant Wehlage Jr. is a tragic loss for the entire department.

De Soto Rural will hold an apparatus procession of honor for Lieutenant Wehlage Jr. Tuesday evening beginning at 8pm during visitation outside of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.

Chief Fitzgerald says funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10.
