De Soto SMCI’s Jack Prince Shuts Out Hillsboro 4-0
(HILLSBORO)  The De Soto SMCI American Legion senior baseball team beat the Hillsboro Prospects last night 4-0 behind a complete game three hit shutout by Jack Prince.  The game was broadcast on KJFF 1400AM and mymoinfo.com.
At one point in the game, Prince set down 12 in a row.  In his seven innings of work, Prince walked one and struck out 6.  De Soto manager Cherokee Boynton says Prince mixes his pitches real well.

De Soto got on the scoreboard in the 5th when Cole Boynton drove in two runs with a double.  De Soto’s third run of the game in the 6th began as a triple by Grant Mullins who then was allowed to score on an overthrow from the outfield.  Boynton says he likes having Mullins on the team.

Hillsboro starter Kyle Turman allowed two runners on base before he was relieved after four and a third innings.  Turman was charged with two runs and he gave up four hits. Hillsboro manager Wil Baker says Turman had a good start.

Hillsboro has a record of 0-3 and will play at St. Charles Sunday at 2pm.  De Soto is now 3-1-1 and they play Festus 253 tonight at 7:30 (Wednesday).
