DeSoto hires new City Fire Chief

(DeSoto) The new DeSoto City Fire Chief has quite the experience when it comes to 1st responding agencies. Tony Ochoa was officially hired and began his first day on the job on Tuesday. DeSoto City Manager Todd Melkus says Ochoa was eager to get started.

Melkus says Ochoa comes with lots of knowledge.

After James Maupin resigned as Fire Chief, both current Captains Mike Zebas and James Coleman stepped up to assume the duties of a chief, with Zebas as the interim chief. Both Zebas and Coleman are back to their previous roles as captains of the department. Tony Ochoa will receive and annual salary of 60-thousand dollars.
