DeSoto man charged with Abandonment of a Corpse

(DeSoto) A DeSoto man has been charged with Abandonment of a Corpse and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Grant Bissell says 62-year-old Stephon Lee Seidl was arrested after the body of a woman was found outside of DeSoto.

Bissell says the investigation determined Thomas passed away while staying at Siedl’s home.

Thomas’ official cause of death is still under investigation by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. However, her death is not considered to be a homicide as there were no signs of trauma to her body. Seidl is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $20,000 cash-only bond.
