(Hillsboro) The number of domestic assaults remains up for the year in Jefferson County. Dawn Davison is the Director of Support Services for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. She is also the supervisor for Victim Services for the office. She says the pandemic is certainly a big reason why those numbers are up.
Davison says despite some service being shut down due to the pandemic, there is still help available.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office handled 85 domestic assaults in the month of August.
