Elaine Gannon Will Not Seek Re-Election In 2024

(Jefferson City, DeSoto) Missouri State Senator Elaine Gannon of DeSoto has decided not to seek re-election for another four-year term in 2024. Gannon says there were two main reasons as to why she decided not to continue her time in state politics.

Gannon says the other reason is family.

Gannon served as a state representative for eight years before becoming the District 3 State Senator. District 3 covers southern Jefferson County and all of St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Washington, and Crawford counties. The announcement will likely draw lots of potential candidates interested in filling the open seat.
