EMAA Requests Money from St. Francois Century Commission
A request for almost a half-million dollars was made to the St. Francois Century Commission Tuesday. Nicole Hahn, an East Missouri Action Agency representative, says that is the annual cost to run an overnight shelter for the homeless.

The E.M.A.A. is also soliciting businesses and individuals to contribute to their Neighborhood Assistance Program that will issue a 50-percent tax credit.

The original overnight shelter, located near the Farmington Senior Center, closed last June after two years and serving 330 individuals and families.  A day shelter for the homeless is currently open daily from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
