Emergency Crews Find Body of Missing Man Last Seen Swimming in the Big River

(Cedar Hill) The body of a missing 33-year-old man who was last seen swimming with friends in the Big River near the Cedar Hill River access has been found.

By using sonar equipment, emergency crews were able to locate the body shortly before 3:30 Monday afternoon.

Divers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol were on scene and entered the river for recovery operations.

The man went missing early Sunday afternoon after he and the group of friends he was swimming with got caught up in a strong current.

The name of the man has not been released at this time pending notification of the Next of Kin.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is currently handling the investigation.
