Execution Tonight At Bonne Terre Prison

(Bonne Terre) Governor Mike Parson says the execution of a man convicted of a 1991 murder in southwest Missouri will go on tonight as scheduled in Bonne Terre).

Sixty-four-year-old Walter Barton will receive a lethal injection for killing 81-year-old Ozark mobile home park manager Glady Kuelher – unless the U-S Supreme Court intervenes.

Parson told Capitol reporters that he hasn’t seen any reason to intervene in Barton’s scheduled execution.

A federal court of appeals recently vacated a stay in the execution of Barton.

His attorneys claim he innocent and incompetent to be put to death.
