Farmington And Festus To Open The Farmington Wood Bat Tournament On KREI And KJFF

(Farmington) Later Friday morning, we’re broadcasting the opening of the Farmington Wood Bat Tournament between the Knights and the Festus Tigers. Coverage starts at 11:15 on AM-800 KREI and AM-1400 KJFF.

Festus are 8-5 after splitting two games with Windsor earlier this week. We broadcasted the Tigers’ 2-0 win on Tuesday on KJFF. Coach Jeff Montgomery told Regional Radio what the plan was to prepare for Friday’s game.

The Tigers will hand senior Brayden Montgomery the ball. He has a 0.47 ERA in 15 innings this season.

Farmington are 3-5 after dropping a game to Fredericktown on Thursday. The Knights had been on a three-game win streak, including a 3-0 win over Potosi last week on KREI. Coach Josh Hoehn said he’s liked the adjustments his kids have made at the plate.

Four total games will be played at Wilson Rozier Park on Friday. There were more games on the schedule for Saturday, but those plans were scrapped with Saturday showers in the forecast. The four participating teams: Farmington, Festus, Greenville, and Hazelwood West, will each play two games Friday with a tournament champion crowned later in the evening.

Our broadcast of Farmington versus Festus begins at 11:15 on KREI and KJFF. First pitch is at 11:30.
