Farmington Football Wins Playoff Game in Dramatic Fashion
(KIRKWOOD) The Farmington Knights football team got into a nail biter of a game in Round 1 of the Class 5 Playoffs against Webster Groves. The Knights jumped out to an early lead.

The point after was no good. Webster Groves was able to snatch momentum after a big defensive play.

The Statesmen put up 16 unanswered points to close out the first half, making the score 16-6. In the third quarter, Farmington’s defense intercepted a pass from Webster Groves quarterback Will Travers, which shifted the momentum to their side. The Knights would score a field goal and score again to make things interesting.

The point after made it 16 all. The game would end up going to overtime following a Webster Grover three-and-out and a Farmington turnover on downs. The Statesmen got the ball first in OT. They missed a field goal on their opening possession meaning Farmington could win on the following possession with any score. Here’s what happened when the Knights got the ball…

The Knights came away with the 22-16 win in Round 1, and move to the District Semifinal round. Knights head coach Erik Kruppe shared what he saw from his team tonight.

Farmington will face top seeded Poplar Bluff next week, who won against the Knights 28-14 earlier this season.
