A Farmington man has flipped to a not-guilty plea after being charged with abandoning a corpse.

52-year-old Nicholas McClure withdrew his original “not guilty” plea after he created a makeshift coffin for his mother, who had passed away on October 15th, and left the body in a storage shed in his back yard.

McClure failed to properly report his mother’s death, and authorities were alerted to her disappearance by family members in the area on November 14th.

McClure faces 5 years of supervised probation and will have to fulfill 40 hours of community service.
