Festus 253 Moves On To Play Ste. Gen 150 In Zone Tournament

(Ballwin) Festus Post 253 won their first game in the American Legion AAA Zone 4 Tournament, defeating Eureka Post 177 10-2. Post 253 got out to a huge lead thanks to 7 runs scored in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Jackson Gross, Sam Stokes, Canyon Stout, Dylan Black, Connor Hulsey, and an error on a ball put in play by Connor McDonald. Each player tallied an RBI in the inning and Festus would cruise to the win. Post 253 had a total of 14 hits and 9 RBIs in the victory. Festus will go on to play a familiar foe Wednesday in Ste. Genevieve Post 150, who they lost to in the District 13 Tournament.

The winner will continue on in the winner’s bracket while the loser will continue to play for a spot in the finals. Wednesday’s game will be the sixth time that Ste. Gen Post 150 and Festus Post 253 have faced off this summer; with Ste. Gen winning 4 of the 5 meetings. The first pitch is at 8pm at the Ballwin Athletic Association.
