(FESTUS, Mo.) Opening night of basketball is here and KJFF is bringing you the first on-air broadcast of the 2017-2018 season as the Grandview Lady Eagles pay a visit to the Festus Tigers in a high school girls basketball match-up.

Both teams are coming off of successful campaigns last year that saw Festus finish at 17-7 while Grandview finished with the best season in school history at 22-4. Festus fell in the district tournament to the Potosi Trojans while Grandview dropped their semifinal game to the Steelville Cardinals.+++

Grandview returns star forward Macy Ketcherside who led the small school conference with 16.2 points per game last season, while also grabbing 9.3 rebounds. Joining Ketcherside will be guards Kaylyn Sparks and Meaghan Faust both expected to play big roles.+++

Festus is on the opposite end returning just one starter from last year’s team in junior Jenna Oetting. Oetting is dealing with an injury and is not scheduled to play in the season opener against Grandview. She averaged 7.4 points per game and 3.6 assists while recording 77 steals last year.+++

The Tigers will rely on sophomores Bria Garmon and Abby Rickermann to step up to play big roles this season. Rickermann averaged 5.1 points per game in her freshman year.+++
