Festus baseball battles to return to winning in 2021

(Festus) The Festus Tigers are excited to be back on the baseball diamond, but they’re also motivated.

Missing all of 2020 meant the Tigers have had to wait a long time for their chance to redeem a 6-16 campaign in 2019.

Festus head coach Jeff Montgomery says, thankfully, they’ve been able to get outside and get some live reps early in the preseason.

While many teams are hitting the hard reset because of the lost season, Festus does have a couple of burgeoning stars back in the fold.

Seniors Collin Reando and Cole Wagner were two of the Tigers’ top hitters in 2019, and Montgomery is glad to have them back.

But with so much uncertainty on the roster, Montgomery is certain of one thing: his team has to be better.

Festus starts a new baseball season with the Parkway Invitational March 19th and 20th in St. Louis.
