Festus Boys and Girls Wrestle Tuesday at Oakville

(FESTUS)    The Festus High School boys and girls wrestling teams will be in action Tuesday, (Dec. 20) at Oakville High School and Mehlville will also be there. Over the weekend, the Festus girls squad wrestled at Fort Zumwalt East without a few of their top wrestlers who were out with the flu. The Lady Tigers were missing Lee Ann Dobbs at 105 and is ranked 7th in the state. Also missing was Mya Harrison at 100 who is #1 in the state. The team was also without Sarah Gazzaway. The Lady Tigers however were able to finish 13th out of 31 teams. Among the girls who came up with a big finish was Freshman Andi Cupp. Festus Head Coach Jared Sheppard says Cupp is showing real promise.

 

 

Sheppard says Lauren Mills who wrestles at 125 and is ranked 2nd in the state also had a great day.

 

 

After Tuesday, the Festus girls will wrestle at the “Wonder Woman Tournament” December 29 and 30th at Battle High School in Columbia.
