Festus’ Klein reaches end of wrestling career with Dream Team selection

(Festus) You can’t ask for a much better finish to a career than what Kirsten Klein accomplished to end her time in high school wrestling.

The Festus Tigers senior finished fifth in the state at 115 pounds for a second time, and she was also selected to the Regional Radio Dream Team.

Klein also won her second district championship during a 31-4 season.

She says this last honor of the Dream Team is a little surprising, but also proof that the work she did to change her mental outlook on the sport paid off.

Klein got plenty of experience in practice working with junior teammate Lauren Mills, who finished third in the state at 130 lbs and also made the Dream Team.

Klein says Mills made for the ideal sparring partner.

And there plenty of other people who helped Klein along the way that she wants to thank.

Klein is one of 5 senior girls’ wrestlers to make the Dream Team in 2022.
