Festus’ Krieg takes home Dream Team Boys’ Cross Country Runner of the Year

(Festus) Festus Tigers sophomore Cullen Krieg is not only once again a member of the Regional Radio Dream Team in cross country.

He’s been voted by the area coaches as the Boys’ Cross Country Runner of the Year.

He says he’s honored to receive the recognition.

Krieg finished second at the Class 4 state championships and helped the Tigers win an impressive seventh straight team state title.

He says living up to the historic success of the program is gratifying.

But Krieg says he’s not surprised by his own success or his team’s hardware, because he has the best kind of teammates pushing him and each other.

Krieg tied for first at the Forest Park meet with fellow Dream Team sophomore Ian Schram and had 4 other top-5 finishes.
