Festus Main Street improvement possibilities

(Festus) The resurgence of Festus Main Street over the last few years has been a great thing to see take place. However, there are still problems when it comes to a few different things. Whenever a heavy storm takes place, the stormwater drains can’t handle the amount of rainfall. Festus City Administrator Greg Camp says it’s been an ongoing problem and he’s been approached by several Main Street merchants.

Camp says he’s certainly wanting to see improvements at some point.

Camp says now having someone with the experience and knowledge in new Public Works Director Matt Unrein, will certainly help with a project like this.

Other improvement ideas might include a better parking situation along Main Street, improved lighting, and continued improvements to the parking lots that are located closeby.
