Festus Tourism takes a hit

(Festus) The Festus Tourism Commission recently met for an update on remaining events and to discuss other things. Festus City Administrator Greg Camp says the funds are still there since most of the events they committed monies to were canceled.

Camp says there are still events scheduled in the fall that might still happen.

Festus Tourism money is collected from a hotel tax, but the number of people staying in the hotels was down significantly in March, April, and May. However, the number of people staying in Festus area hotels has been rising because of the corporate world.
