Festus wrestler Shaver named Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week

Festus Tigers wrestler Luke Shaver is the Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.
Shaver continued an unbeaten senior season by winning the Class 3 District 1 championship at 182 pounds.
Shaver had to knock off Farmington’s Judd Cunningham in the title bout, as he tangled with a fellow 2020 state medalist.
Tigers head coach Jason Nahlik says that type of competition makes Shaver aware that his success is not a guarantee.
Shaver improved to 40-0, but he had an unbeaten record last year when he reached the state tournament before finishing third.
As Athlete of the Week, Shaver receives a T-shirt, a certificate and a coupon for a free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
