Fire crews battle deadly 2nd-alarm house fire in High Ridge
(High Ridge) Fire crews rushed to the 4600 block of West Rock Creek Road in High Ridge after receiving reports of a house fire on Wednesday afternoon.
High Ridge fire Captain John Barton says they were dispatched just after noon and when crews arrived on scene they had smoke coming from multiple points in the home.
On scene paramedics performed life saving measures on the victim, identified as 69-year-old Paula Martin, before she was transported to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton.
She was later pronounced deceased by medical staff.
After retrieving the victim from the home, firefighters continued to battle the blaze.
The fire, which struck a 2nd-Alarm, was under control before 1:40 Wednesday afternoon and crews remained on scene until close to 2:30pm.
The fire is still under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
