Firefighters battle 2-story residential fire in Arnold on Saturday

(Arnold) Firefighters in the Rock Community Fire Protection District battled a 2-story residence fire on Saturday afternoon.

Rock PIER Officer Stephanie Jackson says the call to the 1st-alarm fire came shortly after 3 in the 2200 block of Morris Drive in Arnold.

Saline Valley Fire Protection District was also called in to assist.

Homeowners were home and asleep at the time the fire started. However, smoke alarms sounded to alert them to evacuate the residence.

The cause of the fire was deemed accidental by the Rock Community Fire Protection District investigator team.

In addition to Saline Valley fire, Rock was assisted by Rock Township Ambulance District and Arnold Police Department.
