First Event Planned for the All New Shepherd Mountain Bike Park

(Ironton) Work continues on Shepherd Mountain Bike Park in the Arcadia Valley.

The new park for mountain bikers will open this spring.

Five challenging trails have or are being built on the 1,598 foot mountain, which is located in Ironton.

Chuck Correll owns Fort Davidson Cafe in Pilot Knob and is a member of the Arcadia Valley Tourism Committee.

Correll says they want mountain bikers who visit the park to come back again and again.

Shepherd Mountain Bike Park officials have already scheduled their first event.

It will be a full weekend of fun.

Big Mountain Enduro brings the Shepherd Mountain Enduro Race to the valley.

On Friday, April 30th and Saturday the 1st of May, racers will be able to practice with the race on Sunday, May 2nd.

There will also be entertainment that Saturday night on the Iron County Courthouse Square in Ironton.
