Former Jefferson County Municipal Prosecutor Crabtree disbarred

In a Tuesday press release, former Jefferson County Municipal Prosecutor James “Ike” Crabtree of Crystal City has been disbarred by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Crabtree was suspended from the practice of law on an interim basis by order of the Court back in March. He pleaded guilty on August 18 of 2022 to a misdemeanor civil rights charge for deprivation of rights under the color of law and to a felony charge for lying to FBI agents investigating the case. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison in February for pressuring a woman he was prosecuting into having sex and then lying about the incident to the FBI.
