It was a fun home opener for the Fredericktown Blackcats boy’s basketball team Tuesday night as they defeated the Bismarck Indians by a final of 82-29.

The story for the Blackcats was speed and energy, as they used their depth to press the Indians up the floor every possession, resulting in turnovers and in turn fast break opportunities.

The senior point guard Dylan St. Clair provided a calming presence on the ball while also scoring 13 points and earning our Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game.

This was a game won in the first half for Fredericktown, who raced to a 52-17 halftime lead thanks to a buzzer beating three pointer at the end of the second quarter.

Head coach of the Blackcats Joaby Sikes thought his team followed the gameplan of bothering the Bismarck ball-handlers perfectly.

Fredericktown moves to 5-2 with the victory and will host Valle Catholic on Wednesday while Bismarck falls to 2-5 and plays Viburnum at home on Thursday.
