Grandview, St. Pius duel in girls’ BBall on KJFF

(Festus) A pair of JCAA Small-School Division rivals hook up for girls’ basketball on MLK Day.

The Grandview Eagles take on the St. Pius Lancers Monday on KJFF, with each side boasting a singular star talent.

Grandview may be just 2-8, but 6-foot-2 Eagles sophomore Anna Belle Wakeland is making a big impact with almost 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks per game.

Head coach Tim Winkler says the scariest thing may be how much more room Wakeland has to grow.

St. Pius is 9-3 thanks to another all-conference season from guard A.J. Agers.

The senior is averaging 14 points and almost 5 steals per contest.

The Lancers won last year’s meeting with the Eagles and will look to do so again Monday evening.
