Herculaneum girls’ basketball looking to finally climb championship summit

(Herculaneum) The Herculaneum Blackcats have been close to glory in girls’ basketball, but they’ve come up just short.

Another 19 wins last season and a JCAA Small-School Division championship still ended with a loss in the district semifinals.

But, with most of the same roster in tow, Blackcats head coach Riley Blair says his team has firmly set their eyes on the prize.

One of the seniors leading the way will be reigning conference player of the year Paige Fowler, who recently became the school’s all-time leading scorer and has averaged better than 17 points per game over the last 2 seasons.

Blair says Fowler has become the total package.

Herculanuem dropped two of its first three games but will look to bounce back Friday at home against St. Clair.
