(Jefferson County) A High Ridge man, who led authorities on not one, but four pursuits over the weekend was finally arrested following a police chase on Sunday evening.

Nicholas Roper of High Ridge has been charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and Resisting Arrest.

According to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Grant Bissell, this all started on Saturday night when a Nissan Xterra was stolen from the parking lot of Imo’s in High Ridge.

After gathering more descriptive information about the vehicle from the victim, deputies were able to easily identify the stolen Nissan which was key in this case.

The suspect ended up traveling into St. Louis County onto I-255 near Lindbergh before the vehicle was no longer drivable.

It was at that point when the suspect got out and tried to flee the scene. Sheriff’s deputies had to chase the man on foot and were able to make the arrest shortly after.

Authorities believe the suspect may be tied to other crimes across the area and the prosecuting office is reviewing the potential for further charges.

Roper is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a $250-thousand surety bond.
