Hillsboro Fire Protection District part of Jefferson County Strike Team called up to help with St. Louis County flash flooding

(Jefferson County) The National Weather Service reports more than 8 inches of rain fell between Monday night and Tuesday morning across the St. Louis Metro and St. Louis County leading to serious flash flooding.

In response, multiple emergency responders were called into action performing several water rescues among dealing with other calls for service.

Chief Brian Gaudet with the Hillsboro Fire Protection District says they were one of the agencies called in for mutual aid.

Chief Gaudet says they have been busy responding to just about every type of call.

Two strike teams from Jefferson County were staged at the St. Louis Gallery with another team set up off St. Charles Rock Road.

According to Chief Gaudet, a strike team from St. Francois County was called up to help cover Jefferson County.
