Hillsboro Softball Goes to Cape Girardeau for Class 3 Sectional vs Notre Dame on KJFF

(CAPE GIRARDEAU) The Hillsboro softball Hawks are four wins away from a Class 3 state championship and their journey to the top begins today in Sectionals against Cape Notre Dame on AM 1400 KJFF. The Hawks were District 2 champions after beating Festus 11-1 and then Windsor 4-0 last Thursday and Friday.

Head Coach Kevin Lucas believes that winning those two games the way his girls did will benefit them as they face the Bulldogs.

Cape Notre Dame was the champion of District 1 after slipping past Perryville 4-3 last Friday. Offensively this season, the Bulldogs have scored about 10 runs a game and Head Coach Jeff Graviett says it starts at the top of the order.

Cape Notre Dame has a 26-5 record and Hillsboro has a 20-9 record. The Class 3 Sectional is today at 4:30 p.m. at Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau. You can listen to the action on AM 1400 KJFF beginning at 4:15 p.m.
